The Margaret Austin Center is now known as Auspicious Cloud Retreat Center and is owned and operated by Houston Zen Center. The good news is MAC is in loving hands, and is available for retreat rentals by like-minded groups.

The retreat center was originally established on property owned by Margaret Austin who fostered gatherings for spiritual practices and retreats on her property. This quiet setting in the rolling hills outside Chappell Hill, Texas has, since 2021 been under the stewardship of Houston Zen Center (HZC). The members of HZC have refreshed the infrastructure, repainted most of the buildings, and are continuing to renovate the buildings and nourish and protect the landscape. The center is now open for retreats.
